Tayme Thapthimthong: From Military Ranks to Hollywood Spotlight

Tayme Thapthimthong’s journey to international recognition is a testament to resilience and adaptability. Born in London to Thai parents who operated a restaurant in Kensington, Tayme’s early life was a blend of cultures. At 13, he joined the Combined Cadet Force, nurturing a passion for the military. Despite aspirations to join the Royal Marines, a medical setback redirected his path.​

Embracing this twist of fate, Tayme pursued dance at Kingston University, where he discovered a passion for performance. A visit to Thailand led him to audition for the reality show Academy Fantasia in 2013, where he secured the runner-up position and a subsequent record deal. This exposure opened doors to acting roles, including his debut as Nung in Skin Trade (2014).​

His commitment to service saw him enlist in the Royal Thai Army, where he served as an infantryman and physical training instructor. Transitioning to private security, Tayme worked with notable clients, including the Thai-American hip-hop group Thaitanium.​

The turning point in Tayme’s acting career came with his portrayal of Gaitok in HBO’s The White Lotus Season 3. His character, a resort security guard entangled in complex relationships, resonated with audiences and showcased his depth as an actor. Notably, his on-screen chemistry with co-star Lalisa ‘Lisa’ Manobal garnered significant attention, leading to viral moments such as their rendition of “No Diggity.”
