Hayley Hasselhoff Honors Late Mother Pamela Bach with Emotional Tribute at Cannes, Two Months After Her Passing

A heartfelt tribute blending timeless style and enduring love, as Hayley Hasselhoff honors her late mother Pamela Bach on the Cannes red carpet.

In a poignant moment at the Cannes Film Festival, Hayley Hasselhoff pays homage to her mother by recreating an iconic 1996 Golden Globes gown — celebrating their shared bond and timeless legacy.

Two months after the heartbreaking loss of her mother, Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, Hayley Hasselhoff stepped onto the Cannes red carpet with a powerful and heartfelt tribute that spoke volumes without words. The 32-year-old actress and model honored her late mother — who tragically died by suicide in March at the age of 62 — by wearing a stunning gown inspired by one of Pamela’s most memorable red carpet looks.

At the premiere of The History Of Sound on May 21, Hayley appeared in a dazzling ruby dress that revived the spirit of the Jimmy Gamba design Pamela famously wore to the 1996 Golden Globes. Collaborating with designer Christophe Guillarmé, Hayley chose to recreate the gown’s ruched silhouette and paired it with a delicate custom tulle shawl — a tender nod to the iconic red feather boa Pamela had styled with the dress nearly three decades earlier.

Though the tribute dress retained the essence of the original, Hayley’s version was distinct in its details. She opted for an elegant off-the-shoulder strap rather than the bedazzled spaghetti straps Pamela wore, and complemented the ensemble with white diamond drop earrings instead of Pamela’s larger diamond studs. The thoughtful reinterpretation reflected not only her mother’s style but also Hayley’s own grace and presence.

When asked about the decision to pay homage to her mother through fashion, Hayley shared with US Weekly that the invitation to Cannes instantly felt like the perfect opportunity. “There was no more meaningful way to return than by paying homage to a moment of hers I’ve always adored,” she said. “She was similar in age to me now when she wore it, which made the choice feel all the more poignant. It was as though I could share that moment with her — two women, two eras, connected in a moment in time through a single gown.”

The emotional tribute extends beyond style. Hayley has been open about her grief and love for her mother. Over Mother’s Day, she posted a touching message on Instagram Stories, reflecting on their bond:
“Mama what I’d do to be snuggled in your arms today. I love you beyond words and lifetimes. I can only hope you are celebrating big today.”

Following Pamela’s passing, both Hayley and her older sister Taylor publicly mourned their mother, emphasizing the strength and pride she instilled in them. Hayley wrote:
“My heart is shattered, yet somehow feels whole knowing you will always be my best friend, my heart and my whole world. ‘I love you’ will never be enough because my whole heart is yours, and it always will be. I love you my beautiful, beautiful mama until the end of time.”

David Hasselhoff, Pamela’s former husband and Hayley’s father, who was married to Pamela from 1989 to 2006, also expressed his condolences, stating:
“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”

Hayley Hasselhoff’s appearance at Cannes was more than a fashion statement — it was a moving celebration of legacy, love, and the enduring connection between mother and daughter. Through this graceful homage, she not only honors Pamela’s memory but also reminds the world of the profound impact a single moment — captured in a gown — can carry across generations.
