Dubai World Trade Centre will host the 25th edition of the Airport Show from May 12 to 14, 2026, marking a significant milestone for one of the region’s most influential aviation industry gatherings. The three-day event is set to bring together leading aviation companies, air navigation experts and airport operators from across the globe.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports, the event underscores Dubai’s continued leadership in shaping the future of global aviation.
Spotlight on Advanced Air Traffic Solutions
The 2026 edition will place a strong emphasis on next-generation Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems tailored for Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and airport operators. As global passenger volumes surge and aircraft movements intensify, the need for smarter, safer and more efficient airspace management has become critical.
More than 150 exhibitors from over 30 countries are expected to participate, with organisers projecting attendance of over 7,000 industry professionals and 120 hosted buyers. This positions the Airport Show as one of the largest and most influential airport industry platforms in the Middle East.
Managing Rapid Aviation Growth
The aviation sector is entering a phase of unprecedented expansion. Global passenger traffic is forecast to reach 5.2 billion in 2026 and climb dramatically to 17.7 billion by 2043. Aircraft movements are expected to hit 149 million by 2043. In the Middle East alone, passenger traffic is projected to surpass 240 million in 2026.
Airports across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia are investing heavily in upgrading air traffic systems to accommodate this growth. Rising passenger numbers are placing increasing pressure on airports to handle more flights with greater safety, speed and efficiency.
To address these challenges, airports are turning to advanced digital ecosystems powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics. These technologies enable real-time monitoring of air traffic patterns, optimized aircraft spacing, predictive decision-making and enhanced airspace safety.
Home to around 110 airports and one of the world’s fastest-growing air travel corridors, the Middle East continues to modernise its air traffic infrastructure to maintain global competitiveness and operational excellence.
Knowledge Exchange and Industry Dialogue
Beyond the exhibition floor, the Airport Show 2026 will feature a series of co-located high-level conferences designed to foster dialogue and collaboration among industry leaders. These include:
- The Global Airport Leaders’ Forum
- Airport Security Middle East
- The ATC Forum (marking its ninth edition)
- The Women in Aviation Middle East Conference
These platforms will bring together policymakers, technology providers, airport authorities and aviation executives to discuss emerging trends, regulatory frameworks and innovation strategies shaping the future of aviation.
May Ismail, Event Manager at RX Middle East, organisers of the Airport Show, highlighted the transformative role of technology in the sector. “AI and Big Data are transforming air traffic management (ATM), making it smarter, safer and more efficient. Airport Show 2026 will showcase the world’s leading ATM and ATC solutions, helping the Middle East and nearby regions stay at the forefront of aviation innovation,” she said.
Reinforcing Dubai’s Aviation Leadership
As global aviation accelerates toward a digitally driven future, the 25th Airport Show will serve as a strategic platform for unveiling breakthrough technologies and forging partnerships that support sustainable airspace growth.
With strong international participation, forward-looking discussions and a focus on intelligent air traffic systems, the event reinforces Dubai’s role as a global hub for aviation innovation and infrastructure development.
